Card payments in Sagena.

Before you start

• A Sagena sign-in that can manage your venue.
• The owner's details: name, date of birth, home address and Social Security number (Stripe may ask for only the last four digits).
• Your business bank account.

You do not need a Stripe account first. Sagena makes one for your venue when you start.

Set up card payments

1. Sign in at venue.sagena.ai.
2. Open Contracts, then Payments.
3. Click Set up card payments. Stripe's own form opens inside the page.
4. Sagena has already filled in what it knows: your business's legal name, its address and your contact email. Check them.
5. Choose your business type, for example a registered business such as an LLC, or an unregistered business owned by one person.
6. Give the owner's details.
7. Add your bank account, either by choosing your bank and signing in to it, or by typing in the routing and account numbers.
8. Stripe gives you your own Stripe login, with two-step sign-in. You use it for your Stripe dashboard.

If your email already has a Stripe account, Stripe asks you to sign in to it and can reuse the details it holds.

If the form does not load.Use the link to Stripe's own page under the form, and finish there. Then come back to the Payments page.

Stripe checks your details

After you send the form, Stripe checks what you gave it. This can take a little while. Until it is done, the Payments page says Stripe is checking your details.

If Stripe needs something more from you, the Payments page says so and shows Stripe's own notice, with the form to finish.

When Stripe is happy, the Payments page says card payments are set up.

When couples can pay

Once card payments are set up, couples see a Pay by card button in their couple portal, next to each payment due. Until then they see no card button, and they pay you the other ways you accept.

The couple pays on Stripe's page, in your venue's name. The money is in your Stripe account as soon as they pay, and Sagena marks the payment as paid.

Fees

Stripe's card fee. Stripe takes its fee from each card payment in your Stripe account. Stripe's pricing page lists it.

If you would rather the couple covered it, tell us and we will switch that on for your venue. The fee then shows to the couple as its own line when they pay.

Sagena's fee.Sagena takes no fee on your couples' card payments.

Refunds

You can refund a couple from Sagena or from your Stripe dashboard. Either way the refund comes out of your Stripe balance, and Sagena records it.

From Sagena. On the Payments page, find the payment and choose Refund. You can refund all of it or part of it.

From Stripe. Sign in to your Stripe dashboard, find the payment and refund it there.

Disputes

If a couple's bank disputes a payment, the amount and Stripe's dispute fee come out of your Stripe balance. You answer the bank from your Stripe dashboard. Sagena tells you when it happens.
