Terms of service

The deal, in plain words.

These terms are the agreement between you, a wedding venue, and Sagena. By opening an account you agree to them. They are short because the product is simple: we help you look after your couples, and you stay in charge of what goes out in your name.

Who you are dealing with

Sagena is made and run by The Bloom House, based at Rixey Manor, Rixeyville, Virginia, USA. "We" and "us" means that company. "You" means the venue that opened the account and the people it lets in.

What Sagena is

Software that reads your email with couples, keeps each couple's story in one place, drafts replies in your voice, reports on where your bookings come from, and gives couples a portal for the months between booking and the wedding. It is described on this site; the description is honest and we update it when the product changes.

Your account

  • You must be a real venue, or working for one, and old enough to sign a contract where you live.
  • Keep your login to yourself. Anything done from your account is yours, so turn on two-step sign-in and tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.
  • You can invite staff. They are bound by these terms through you.
  • Couples get their own portal access with a client code. They are your clients, not ours, and you decide what they can see.

Sage, and what she sends

Sage is an AI. She drafts; you decide. Every reply she writes is yours to approve, edit or bin, and you can set her to send on her own only after you have chosen to. Whatever goes out from your connected email in your name is your message, whoever typed it. Read her drafts. She is good, not infallible. She always says she is an AI when a couple asks.

Your data

Your data is yours: the email, the notes, the couples, the numbers. We hold it to run the service and for nothing else. The privacy policy says what we keep, where, and how to take it back. You can export it or ask us to delete it at any time. You are responsible for having the right to give us what you connect, including your couples' messages, and for telling your couples that their emails and calls are kept.

Paying

  • Prices are on the pricing page. Billing is monthly or yearly through Stripe, in US dollars, in advance.
  • The trial is 14 days with no card. When it ends without a plan chosen, the account freezes: you can still sign in and see everything, but Sagena stops reading, drafting and sending until you pick a plan. Nothing is deleted.
  • If a payment fails we retry for seven days and email you. After that the account goes read-only in the same way until it is paid.
  • Cancel whenever you like from Settings. You keep access until the end of what you have paid for. We do not refund part months, except where the law says we must.
  • Founding prices are fixed for the period we said when you joined. Other prices can change with 30 days' notice by email.

Fair use

Do not use Sagena to:

  • send spam, or email people who have not written to you or booked with you;
  • break the law, or Google's or Stripe's rules, which apply through us;
  • connect an inbox that is not yours to connect;
  • copy the service, pull it apart, or run it for someone else as if it were yours;
  • load it with something designed to hurt it or anyone else.

If you do, we can suspend the account. We will tell you why.

Availability

We aim to keep Sagena up all the time and we tell you when it is not. It runs on Vercel, Supabase, Anthropic, Google and Stripe, and when one of them has a bad day, so do we. Scheduled work (reading your inbox, sending follow-ups) runs on a timetable and can be late. We do not promise a particular uptime figure yet.

What we are responsible for, and what we are not

We are responsible for running the service with care and keeping your data safe as the privacy policy describes. We are not responsible for a booking you lose, an email a couple misreads, a draft you approved without reading, or a decision you make from a report. As far as the law lets us say it, our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms is the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything the law does not let us limit.

Ending it

You can close the account at any time. We can close it with 30 days' notice, or at once if you break the fair use rules above and do not put it right when asked. Either way you can take your data out first, and we delete what is left within 30 days of closing.

Changes and the law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we email every venue at least 30 days before it takes effect. Carrying on using Sagena after that date means you accept the change. These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, and any dispute goes to the courts there, unless you are a consumer somewhere whose law says otherwise.
